>How to go a week without using deodorant! Review/giveaway Closed

January 28, 2011

>
Did the title get your attention? Well, let me explain what that actually means. I’m frugal, but I’m not THAT frugal! I have been given the opportunity to review Certain Dri solid. I had seen it in the stores before but had never purchased it or had the chance to try it out. However, I was intrigued when I heard that it is the number one over-the-counter antiperspirant recommended by doctors for treating excessive perspiration.

I received the new Certain Dri Solid. It is from the new line of antiperspirant products. The great thing about this product is that it is okay to use if you have sensitive skin, which I happen to have.

If you have never known the difference between an anti-perspirant like Certain Dri and regular deodarant, I’ll give you a quick lesson. Anti-perspirant is designed to keep you for sweating. It is supposed to keep your underarm area dry and odor free. The reason your underarms smell is because of the sweat. Not that sweat itself stinks, but when you sweat under your arms, it is a damp place. Damp things don’t usually smell too good. Thus, anti-perspirant is designed to keep you from sweating. Instead, your sweat is diverted out of your body through your bladder or from other areas. Does that seem a little scary? It shouldn’t be. Your skin is able to sweat from every other inch of your body so having your armpits odor free and dry by using anti-perspirant should not be scary. If you have sweaty feet or hands, Certain Dri can even be used for that.

Deodorant covers up the odor. You have to, of course, put it on when you are clean or else it doesn’t work. I think most deodorant now is deodorant and antiperspirant combined. It, to me, doesn’t work as well as Certain Dri. That is just my opinion though.

What I absolutely loved about Certain Dri is that you can use it once and it can work for up to 72 hours. I chickened out the first time I used it. I am a teacher, and I knew that I had a parent conference coming up and I was afraid to go without reapplying. I made it two days but for the third day (the day of the parent conference), I put on deodorant. Funny thing was when I was taking a shower, I still didn’t smell any underarm odor so it was still working. I was just paranoid that it would be really hot in my classroom and I would sweat it off and have to show up at the conference not smelling too great. Now, I have gone the whole three days and it works for me. I think you would have to try it for yourself to find how long you can go without reapplying.

Now for the awesome part. I have been offered a giveaway to go along with this review. Here is what you have to do to get your entries in for one stick of Certain Dri solid.

>PediaCare Review and giveaway = Closed

January 11, 2011

As a parent, of course you want your child to stay healthy. I’m sure all of us wish that our child(ren) would never get sick. We hate to see our babies suffering with stuffy noses, coughs, and the aches and pains that come with fevers. But, when they do get sick, we want to be able to give them medicine that is safe for their little bodies and that will help them feel better.

Recently, I was given the opportunity to do a review of PediaCare Chilren’s medicine. My little one is only one years old and the products that I was given to review were for children aged 2-11. Lucky for me, I have two nephews who both fit the correct age range for the product. I gave my sister the PediaCare to review, and told her to let me know how it was. I wish I could copy and paste the text that she sent to me about it. She said that, “Pedia Care is friggin awesome!” Those were her exact words. I texted her back and told her that I would call her later to get a little bit more detail.

When I talked to my sister about the PediaCare that she tried she said that my nephew had a fever, and when she gave it to him it brought down his fever. What more can one ask for, right? When she took him to his pediatrician though he ended up having strep throat so he did have to take some antibiotics. Poor little guy!

PediaCare has an iPhone application that is designed to help make a trip to the pharmacy a little bit easier. It is free to download from http://www.pediacare.com/. You just download the app, check off your child’s symptoms, and PediaCare will help you figure out which product would best suit your child’s needs based on their symptoms.

Thanks to PediaCare, one reader will win:

PediaCare Children’s Fever Reducer/Pain Reliever (ages 2-11)

And

PediaCare Children’s Fever Reducer Plus Multi-Symptom Cold (ages 6-11; okay for ages 4 and 5 with dosage directed by pediatrician)

It may save you a trip to the store this cold and flu season. The winner of this giveaway needs to be 18 or older and from the U.S. This giveaway begins today, 1/11/11, and ends 1/23/11 at midnight eastern time. Here’s what you need to do to get entries.

>AcquaEssentials Review and Giveaway

January 11, 2011

>

Thanks to AcquaEssentials, I have the opportunity to give away almost $100 worth of items! I had the opportunity to try a sampler pack different products. I tried the following Caviahue products: Anti Wrinkle Cream, Nourishing-Moisturizing Cream, and Thermal Mud.

The Thermal cream was a nice treat for a gal like me. I enjoyed using the Thermal Mud as a kind of treat. I have some another mud product that is tucked away some where (it’s just not my thing), but this one moisturizes much more. My skin felt great after using it. I don’t use this type of product often as I am not as diligent as I know I should be about taking care of my skin, but this is the best I’ve ever used. If I were in to this type of thing, I would use this product over products that I’ve tried in the past.

I also had the chance to try a couple of Mondariz products. I got the Mondariz Hydro-Woman and Hydro-Man sample. I loved the moisturizing cream! I would say that I am slightly fanatical about moisturizing. I can not take dry skin, especially during this time of year. The woman cream made my skin feel moisturized but not greasy. I usually have to moisturize twice a day but this moisturizer had staying power. My husband tried the man cream. He said it smells funny. I told him that it didn’t smell funny, it smelled expensive. He usually does not use any type of moisturizing product so he had nothing to compare this lotion to, but I knew the difference. I can’t use cheap lotion because I break out. I usually have to spend a little bit of money to get a quality face lotion. This was definitely quality and a nice treat. Who doesn’t like to be pampered every now and then?

The folks at AcquaEssentials sent me a full bottle of the Nourishing-Moisturizing cream to review. After having used it for a few weeks now, I have to say that it is a good quality lotion. It provides good moisture so that my skin does not feel at all dry, and a little bit goes a long way. This is a product that I can actually see myself purchasing in the future.

Now here is the part you want to hear about. AcquaEssentials has sent me two goodies to give away! You can try a full sized container of the Thermal Mud ($75 value) or the Thermal Water ($25 value). I will ship it out to you if you are the winner.

There are two seperate entry forms. You can enter for both, but you will have to make a seperate comment for each product into the correct entry form. Here is how you get your entries in.

>Softlips Review and Giveaway = Closed

January 11, 2011

Florida summers are so incredibly hot! When Fall comes around, it isn’t much of a Fall usually. It is still steaming hot down here lots of times. I mean, we can wear flip-flops into November. When winter weather finally does come around we are ready for it. What I am never ready for is the dry skin that comes with winter. I have to be extra vigilant about

I recently had the chance to review some Softlips moisturizer. This was a new one for me because I have never tried these before. I was sent the winter 5-pack. The flavors were Sugar and Spice, Winter Mint, Sugar Cookie, Sugar Plum Berry, and Mint with a Hint of Vanilla.

My favorite is the Mint and Vanilla. Softlips helps my lips feel moisturized. If you read my other post, you know that I love moisturizer. I even shared a couple of sticks with friends. My sister got one, and another friend of mine got one.

One good thing about Softlips is that it has protection as well as moisture. It has an SPF of 20, which is great if you are like me and don’t use protection like you should.

Would you like to win some? Softlips is allowing me to give away a package of Softlips Winter Edition flavors to one of my readers.

Here is how you get your entries in.
